What began as a marketing consultancy and creative shop in the basement office of founder and owner David Strand’s home in 1994, Strand Marketing, Inc. opened its first headquarters in Burlington, MA just a few months later. In 2001, we moved into our current location — a creatively renovated “fix it” shop on the corner of U.S. Route 1 Northbound and Railroad Street in historic Newburyport, Massachusetts. With the help of now Creative Director David Bush, who shared space in Strand’s first headquarters and established the firm’s clean, smart design aesthetic, David Strand has shaped the agency into a versatile, world-renown B-to-B shop with an in-house team of strategic, creative design, web development, and digital marketing experts, and a deep bench of experienced associates.
We established our foothold in the RF/microwave industry in the era of direct marketing and print advertising, and we’ve honed our skills in the digital age to become a leading demand generation expert—now in several high-tech and industrial niches. An engineering savvy and award-winning agency, we’ve been tapped by companies in markets such as: medical devices; bioscience; wireless networking; microelectronics; machine vision; industrial automation; machinery; payment processing; business intelligence; IT; clean tech; contract manufacturing; advanced materials; defense; and aerospace, to name a few.
“The fundamentals of doing business for these types of companies hasn’t changed. The way they’re perceived and how they communicate has,” says David Strand. “Our focus on tech and industry has allowed us to collect data and zero in on the best ways to creatively and systematically impact what is typically an engineer-to-engineer sale.”
One of Strand’s clients, Paul Blount, Founder and President of Custom MMIC, had this to share on LinkedIn about working with Strand:
“Custom MMIC has had a very successful and fruitful relationship with Strand for over eight years and counting. Their creative talent and marketing savvy helped us become credible with customers large and small, while competing with much larger semiconductor companies. Their guidance with our website, SEO, and many other aspects of marketing has resulted in high revenue growth and high customer visibility.”
In 2018, we trademarked our Intent ICMS platform, an innovative web development and integrated content and customer management system. It has us uniquely positioned and qualified to launch search engine optimized websites and digital marketing campaigns specifically geared for high-tech and industrial companies and their engineering and supply chain-oriented customers.
“I’m especially proud of, and thankful for, earning so many of our clients’ long-term trust,” said Strand. “They recognize and appreciate our ability to stay rooted in B-to-B fundamentals while keeping on top of what’s next. We can’t thank them enough for their faith as we’ve been building and refining our results-driven approach to demand generation over these last 25 years.”
