As part of a tradition of spreading the warmth around the holidays, we're once again holding our annual coat drive. Will you help? We're collecting clean coats, hats, gloves, socks, boots, and blankets. The drive runs until Jan. 7th and items can be dropped off in our lobby at 10 Railroad Street, Newburyport. We'll be helping those in need chase off the chill by getting these items to our local Salvation Army center and Newburyport Community Services.
“People often forget that the coldest days are ahead for those in need. So we like to extend our donation period beyond the holidays to let folks who might realize after the holidays they now need to make some room. There are so many people who would benefit from things they no longer need,” said David Strand, CEO.
Don’t have any warm articles of clothing? We’re also offering another way to spread the warmth by collecting gift cards, too. (Note that while NCS’ annual giving to their red stocking program may have ended , there’s always a few last minute items needed for people of all ages in December, and their needs continue right through the whole year for birthdays and other special occasions, and emergency situations. So please give).
Items can be dropped off Monday through Friday 9-5 PM, or by appointment by calling 978-463-0780. Drive ends at noon on Monday, January 7th, 2019.
Happy Holidays, and let’s make it a Wonderful New Year for all!!
